Community - RDP Cares

Caring for others and our community isn't something that emerged after RDP Foodservice found success. It was baked into our fabric before the company even started.

Growing up during The Great Depression, our founder Richie DiPaolo watched as his parents often provided meals to hungry neighbors from their small corner grocery in Columbus, Ohio's Italian Village. Folks often stopped by with barely anything to spend, but would leave with enough food to get by.

That commitment to serving others remains a hallmark of the RDP philosophy.

At RDP foodservice, we are grateful for the blessings we have received over three generations and 50-plus years of business. An essential part of our company’s mission is to provide our support to a range of charitable organizations.

Among the organizations we support are:

RDP and the DiPaolo family have had a longstanding relationship with Nationwide Children’s Hospital dating back to the mid-1980s. RDP is proud to be the Presenting Sponsor of The Slice of Columbus, held in the fall of the year in Columbus Ohio. This pizza event is Central Ohio’s largest and has raised over a million dollars for Nationwide Children’s Hospital Research Institute.

The DiPaolo family believes that the success of the Columbus Zoo is not only important to the community, but also to the preservation and conservation of wildlife. RDP is proud to be the food purveyor to all Columbus Zoo properties including The Wilds, a 10,000-acre conservation center, Zoobezi Bay Water Park and Safari Gold Club.

RDP has been a major sponsor of Zoofari, the largest fundraising event held at the zoo, which showcases Columbus’ variety of restaurants and bars. RDP promotions have awarded customers with zoo memberships and many RDP events have featured animals from the Columbus Zoo with hopes of generating awareness of the zoo’s conservation efforts.

RDP foodservice works closely with the Mid-Ohio Foodbank by donating products and services every month. Food donations are then distributed to people who need it most across Central and Eastern Ohio. The DiPaolo family is committed to finding ways to eradicate hunger in Ohio communities.

Let RDP handle all your Foodservice needs.
